Why we're here
Motherhood reshaped me in ways I never expected.
When my first son was born, I exclusively pumped. I carried the quiet pressure of “breast is best,” and when my milk supply didn’t meet my expectations, I internalized it. I felt like I was falling short at something that was supposed to be natural. I did everything I was told. I ate well, rested when I could, drank more water but I still felt depleted. What I didn’t understand at the time was how physically demanding milk production truly is.
With my second son, breastfeeding looked different. He latched well, and feeding felt more intuitive but I felt profoundly dehydrated. No matter how much plain water I drank, I still felt drained. My energy dipped. My body felt off. That’s when I started looking deeper not at trends, but at physiology.
Breastfeeding increases fluid needs. It also increases electrolyte demand. Hydration isn’t just about water; it’s about fluid balance. Sodium, potassium, magnesium, and other electrolytes play a critical role in how the body absorbs and retains water. When I began focusing on replenishing electrolytes intentionally, not sugary sports drinks, not unnecessary additives, but targeted minerals everything shifted, I felt more stable. More energized. More supported in my own body.
I also noticed my milk production felt more consistent.
Many hydration products are loaded with sugar, artificial ingredients, or unnecessary fillers. I wanted something cleaner. Minimal. Purposeful. Something I would feel confident using daily.
So I created it.

Frequently asked questions
What is HERA Hydration?
HERA Hydration is a simple electrolyte powder designed to support lactation through purposful daily hydration. It provides key minerals like sodium, potassium, and magnesium to help maintain fluid balance and support efficient water absorption.
Who is HERA Hydration for?
HERA Hydration was designed for women in all stages of life, specifically with postpartum and breastfeeding in mind, but it's also a great option for anyone looking for a simple, effective hydration drink without excess sugars or additives.
How does hydration affect breastmilk production?
Lactation is a supply-and-demand process, primarily regulated by hormones, overall health, and nutrition. Breast milk is nearly 90% water, making hydration an important part of supporting normal milk production.
Hydration, however, isn’t just about how much water you drink, it’s about fluid balance. This balance is regulated by electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium, which help the body absorb and retain fluids effectively.
Is this safe to use while breastfeeding?
HERA Hydration is formulated with essential electrolytes commonly found in everyday foods. While it is designed with mothers in mind, you should always consult your healthcare provider if you have specific medical concerns.
When should I drink HERA Hydration?
You can use HERA Hydration at any time of day. Find a part of your daily routine where you can consistently prepare your water. Many people mix it into their water in the morning and sip on it throughout the day.
How often can I use it?
HERA can be used daily. It’s formulated to provide a balanced blend of essential electrolytes without unnecessary additives, meaning you get effective hydration without excess.
Can I use this even if I’m not breastfeeding?
Yes. HERA Hydration is suitable for anyone looking to improve daily hydration, not just breastfeeding mothers.
